Lasalgaon wholesale market in Nasik district is the biggest onion market in Asia. It is the place where more than 3 lakh tones of onion are traded annually. The market has availability of large number of traders, better market facilities and proximity to railway station. Bhaba Automic Research Center (BARC) plays vital role in processing the onions of Lasalgaon market to keep them fresh for a long time. Onions are traded here not only from Lasalgaon region but from other markets like Manmad, Pimpalgaon, Kalwan, Chandwad, Vani, Deola, Dindori, Nandgaon, Saykheda ,Niphad, Yeola, Satana, and Sinnar. The harvest period of June-July is the biggest one and onions from this period crop last till the month of December.

For sorting and packing onions, there are many warehouses available where quality control team helps farmers to check the quality of onions while sorting them. The onions from famous Lasalgaon market are transported all over the India and also exported to many vegetable markets all over the world.
