CREDAI requests CM for regional plan

A committee from the Confedaration of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) recently met Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. They express the requirement and approval of regional plan of Nasik district at earliest and the addition of rural areas in the state in its stay order on 20% reservation in the construction project for low income group (LIG).

President of Nasik branch Kiran Chavan was heading the committee from CREDAI. After meeting, a memorandum was presented before Chief Minister. On the occasion of "Ideal Teacher Awards" distribution, the Chief Minister was in Nasik.

Explaining the issue more in detail Kiran Chavan said that the Nasik Division's regional plan is pending with the state since many years. Once approved, it will boost the Nasik division's development. They urged the CM to approve the plan at the earliest.

He further said that the deadlock over 20% reservation for economically weaker sections (LIG) in housing projects over 2,000 sq m, which had put all residential building plans by the town planning departments since January on hold, was resolved after the state had stayed the issue in April 2012. They also received a stay order. But, the order is limited to the areas under the jurisdiction of municipal corporations and municipalities. The state has not made this directive applicable to the regional schemes (non-municipal corporations, non-municipalities areas). They urged the CM to resolve the 20% reservation issue for regional schemes too.
