Seminar on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’

Nashik Industries and Manufacturers' Association (NIMA), in association with the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME), had organized a seminar on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ (IPR). The intention behind holding this executive seminar was to spread awareness among industrialists about the importance of intellectual property and legal compliance coupled with it like trademark and patents registration.

President of NIMA, Dhananjay Bele expressed his views on this saying, in this era of competition, manufacturers do take care of their products using different techniques. But, despite of knowing facts, some ignore IPR and some even don’t know much about it and this result in significant losses. That’s why this seminar is organized by FIMSE to make industrialists aware about the rights of IPR. He further added saying, industrialists should be alert on this and get patents and trademarks of your products registered.

Deputy Secretary (Intellectual Property Rights) of FISME, Karamjeet Singh Saluja guided the industrialists with a power point presentation on patents, industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indications and copyrights. He also explained why IPRs are important and why one should protect that as IPR registration costs less.
