Hundreds and thousands of Christian devotees from all over India and world returned blissfully to their places after ardent celebration of once-a-year fair at Infant Jesus Shrine located along Nasik-Pune Road, Nasik. Like every year, lots of stalls selling toys, candles, flowers, souvenirs, foodstuff including grapes, raisins and many more attractive merchandise added the feel of fair this year also.

Nasik is one of the famous and holiest cities of India, which is also known as the city of pilgrimage. Along with the holiness, Nasik is also well known for the sports played there. Various sports such as cricket, football, basketball, tennis, badminton and many others are played in Nasik.

Nasik has been continuously contributing and giving its best for creating several stage artists in dramas, plays and theaters. Sine two decades, Nasik has made a remarkable identity in the field of drama. They have not only succeeded on state level but also on national level.

Sanskriti Foundation, Nasik celebrated 150th birth anniversary of Revered Rabindranath Tagore. Foundation came up with a breathtaking concept to mark Tagore’s invaluable contribution to Indian literature and presented a play titled ‘Chitrangada’. This act was an arty mishmash of drama and dance and was performed at an event held in Parshuram Saikhedkar auditorium, Nasik. Nashikites rushed to spot such an incredible theatre festivity.

With an intention to promote fine art in the holy city, few artists joined hands to organize a week long art festival in Nasik, few businesses also loved the concept and came ahead to support the cause. They started planning the event weeks before and finally the ArtFest 2012 began yesterday, on 14th February, 2012.

In the race of life, what is necessary to surge ahead is arduous efforts, formidable willpower and above all insuperable perseverance and it was the outstanding runner Kavita Raut who emerged to be an excellent example of these positive attributes.
