With an intention to promote fine art in the holy city, few artists joined hands to organize a week long art festival in Nasik, few businesses also loved the concept and came ahead to support the cause. They started planning the event weeks before and finally the ArtFest 2012 began yesterday, on 14th February, 2012.

Ruchir Art Gallery and Potdar Digital Graphics have jointly organized this painting gala and it is scheduled from 14th to 20th February 2012. Some renowned artists attended the opening ceremony at City Centre Mall, Untawadi, Nasik. International and National award winner Rajesh Sawant, international photographer Prasad Pwar and Nasik’s architectural mastermind Ar Sanjay Patil were among the chief guests who inaugurated the event by lighting lamp.

Event started on 6 pm, Ruchir Panchakshari expressed the purpose to hold ArtFest, followed by live painting demo by Sawant. People were curiously observing his strokes and a horse was taking shape out of various colors on canvas. Hundreds of paintings are kept on display in a hall at first floor of mall which are attracting passerby.

On 15th Feb, Warli paper bag workshop is organized especially for women of Nasik wherein Usha Nagpure will be guiding addressees. Few more live painting demos are scheduled on 18th, 19th and 20th Feb and the celebrity artists will be Kiran Borse, Ashok Dhivare and Anil Abhange respectively. Apart from workshop and live demos, daily sculpting is going to be yet another treat for art lovers.
