Sanskriti Foundation, Nasik celebrated 150th birth anniversary of Revered Rabindranath Tagore. Foundation came up with a breathtaking concept to mark Tagore’s invaluable contribution to Indian literature and presented a play titled ‘Chitrangada’. This act was an arty mishmash of drama and dance and was performed at an event held in Parshuram Saikhedkar auditorium, Nasik. Nashikites rushed to spot such an incredible theatre festivity.

Nasik’s soil still has a smell of Dnyanpeeth which was brought by the legend poet, author and above all a Nashikite, Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar alias Kusumagraj. Being an important part of his life, HPT Arts and RYK Science College has organized an innovative event ‘Smaranrang’ in the golden memories of Kusumagraj (Tatyasaheb).

Pranav Joshi of Dipak Mandal has won special excellence award in Sanskrit Rajyanatya Spardha (competition) organized by state government of Maharashtra. The competition was held at Nagpur and Dipak Mandal performed a play named ‘Anathanaam Nath’. This award is given to Pranav for his outstanding Sanskrit pronunciations and performance.

Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s Loknete Vyankatrao Hire (LVH) College is organizing two-day conference on Maharashtra’s age-old folk theatre, Tamasha on February 21-22, 2012 at Parshuram Saykhedkar Auditorium, Nasik. The conference is being held under Pune University’s ‘Gunvatta Sudhar Yojana’ by Department of Marathi, LVH College. The conference is to be inaugurated at 10 am by Sambhaji Jadhav of Marathi Tamasha Parishad while the chairperson will be Prashant Hire of Mahatma Gandhi Vidhyamandir. The event will be started with but obvious Lavani performance.
