The combination of wine, food and music can never go wrong and Nasik experienced this melange on Saturday 21st of January 2012, with the York Live 2012. The event, which took place at York Winery's sprawling vineyards, saw a great turnout of wine enthusiasts and music aficionados, not only from Nasik but also from Mumbai and Pune.
One of the most awaited wine festivals, York Live 2012, started at noon with lots of fun and the party went on till the night. Wine lovers who attended the festival had a special treat of boutique wines and an a la carte menu of sumptuous food. York Winery had showcased some of its best red and white wines at the festival and to accompany the wine, there were some delicious range of cuisines.
But the biggest attraction of York Live 2012 was the performances of some the best music bands. The 7 member jam band from Mumbai 'Something Relevant' hooked the crowd with their foot tapping numbers. Shri from Shrilektic, who is known for his beautiful blends of Indian and electronic sounds, played the very popular Nashik Dhol and the crowd went berserk. The cherry on the cake was, however, the headliner performance by US based famed percussionist Karsh Kale who simply enthralled the audience with his music skills. Another electric performance was by saxophonist and beatboxer Mr. Woodnote and vocalist Eva Lazarus. Singer-songwriters Alisha Pais, Ayush Shreshta, Tek were some of the other performers of York Live 2012 who entertained the crowd.
Apart from wine and music, York Live 2012 had some engaging games and a flea market too. Grape stomping drew the biggest number of crowd, with many people seen excited to get their feet dirty. People were also seen actively participating in the carnival games to win York Winery merchandises like caps, wine bottle stoppers, wine openers and many more. While many others were busy doing shopping at the different stalls setup here.
To sum it up, the second round of York Live 2012 was a great success amongst the crowd. The warm winter sun and the frosty evening of Nasik made this day long festival even more charming.
