The latent town Nasik, popular as a place of pilgrimage and wine making, now also contributes to talent of Maharashtra Cricket. Abhishek Raut born on 3rd of March 1987 and hail from cricketing backwaters of Nasik. Abhishek made his debut in first class cricket in year 2005.

He is a forceful right-handed batsman and right-arm 'googly' bowler. During 2008 IPL season, he represented Rajasthan Royals and scored match wining 21 runs out of 13 balls.

Abhishek is the son of Nashik Cricket Academy's coach Makarand Oke. When Abhishek was 7, his father sent him to the academy and it was Abhishek's flair towards cricket that helped him throughout his career. He used to spend his nights at friend's house or in cricket dressing rooms. Apart from an aggressive batsman and active fielder, Abhishek is hardworking, sincere and completely dedicated to his profession. It is because of these qualities, he is able to surmount the small city barriers as cricketers from Nasik don't get much exposure. Abhishek turn up for everyday practice without fail, three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening has been his practice agenda since 11 years.

During his career, Abhishek got several opportunities to rub his shoulders with many cricket legends of today's time. Nasik has celebrated his success in an impressive style and gives him best wishes for his future career.
