Ancient India Had Rich Therapeutic Knowledge

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences’ (MUHS’) Department of Interpathy Research & Technology (UDIRT) held a workshop on ‘Good Clinical Practices and Research Methodology’ and ex vice-chancellor of Symbiosis Deemed University, Lieutenant general M.A. Tutakne guided medical students during the same. Vice-chancellor of MUHS Dr Arun Jamkar, Registrar Dr Adinath Suryakar, Deputy Registrar Dr Sunil Fugare and Director Professor Prabhakar Kulhali were also present there.

Ancient India had rich therapeutic knowledge. We need to have rational outlook and progressive approach towards these savoir faire. Students should initiate research after considering absolute needs of Indian society and in interest of people, said Tutakne. He then went over the development that is taking place in clinical research arena in India as well as the world.

Dr. Jamkar also addressed the audience saying, students need to observe even minute things in society and then initiate necessary research. In order to promote research, university has started research project fellowship. For that reason, students should do research of an international level and should also participate in international conferences to present research.

Dr. Jamkar then concluded saying, this workshop was organized to spread wakefulness among students about medicinal market and demand and supply of drugs in international market.
