There are many forts, temples and historic sites in and around Nasik like Trimbakeshwar which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, Ramkund where Lord Rama bathed during his exile, Shirdi which is divine place of sage Sai baba and forts like Mulher, Ratangad, Harihargad and Ramshej fort. Nasik is one of the four cities that host the massive Kumbhmela once in 12 years which has increased the religious significance of Nasik.
