The Central Jail in Nasik is one of the most important jails in India, where number of serious convicts have been held, since its establishment. The jail is located on a huge sprawling place at Jail Road, Nasik. Many hard core criminals, terrorists, film stars, business tycoons and politicians have been inmates of the Nashik Central Jail.
Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA) was started in the year 1906 in Pune, as a 'Central Police Training School. It shifted to Nasik in 1908 and since then it has been functioning in Nasik. Maharashtra Police Academy performs the crucial task of providing basic training to police inspectors who are responsible for maintaining law and order in the state.
Nasik has quite a few high potential projects running on its warm soil. No matter whether they belong to private sector or are government owned, combined they keep boosting economy here.
Deolali Camp was established as an important depot for the advent and exit of troops during 1870. At the time of Second World War, the Artillery school was transferred from Kakul to Deolali and since then it became training centre for the Regiment of Artillery. Within cantonment limits, you can find Air force station which strongly contributes towards country’s octroi revenues.
