Sting Operation in Nashik, Cop Demanding Bribe for Closing FIR
A cop was dismissed and arrested after the sting operation that was broadcasted on local news channel recently. The cop was taped while accepting bribe for closing the registered FIR. Gulab Jagtap, one of the senior police officers at Bhadrakali police station, Nashik, was dismissed and sent to jail for two days since he was caught on tape accepting bribe.
75,000 LED Street Lights will be installed in Nasik City: NMC
Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to change all the street lights in Nashik City with LED bulbs. Installation of new LED bulbs in Nashik will be done in one go. This will save a lot of energy as well as the electricity bill says the members. As of now, 75,000 street lights are present in Nashik city and are controlled directly by Nashik Mahanagar Palika.
NMC ends Private Octroi Services in Nasik
In the first general meeting after the recent election, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to discontinue the private octroi service in Nashik from 19th May, 2012. Two years ago NMC gave octroi service contract to private vendors to gain more profit, but most of the residents and business in Nashik, were not really happy as that decision simplified NMC’s work but it was causing a lot of problems to others.
Yet another Successful Combing Operation by Nasik Police
Once again Nashik Police were successful in their Combing Operation at Panchavati. 24 criminals were caught along with 18 stolen motorcycles and 4 auto-rikshaws. On Sunday 13th May, 2012, Nashik Police carried out this Combing Operation early in the morning at 4:30 pm in the slum areas of Phule Nagar, Panchavati and its neighboring areas.
