Pilgrim Centers
St Philip’s Church is part of the Church of North India (CNI) group of Churches. It was built and completed on 1st May 1937, collectively by the Indian Pastors and the British who worked for the Indian Security Press. The Church is now governed by a Pastorate committee from Nasik, consisting of 8 to 10 Church representatives from St. Philip’s Church and all decisions concerning the Church are collectively made by them.
Being a pilgrim city Nasik has lots of sacred places of every religion. There are some popular Mosques located in Nasik such as Madina Masjid, Aisha Masjid and Helboudi Masjid. Madina Masjid is situated on Banganga River, located near Kasabe Sukena village. It is one of the most popular and historic mosques of Nasik.
On the banks of the majestic River Godavari, various religious activities of the city of pilgrimage, Nasik, are centered. The northern part from where the River Godavari flows in Nasik is called as Panchavati. Panchavati is considered to be the most visited holy and pilgrim spot of Nasik.
Shirdi, a place where a saint stayed for nearly all of his lifetime, until 1918, is located in Ahmednagar district and in close proximity to Nasik. This saint is no one but 'Sai Baba', whose holiness is revered by almost all religions, who preached throughout his entire life the universal brotherhood beyond every creed and devotees describe him as the 'Child of God'.
Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines of Lord Shiva, which get high reverence from Hindu devotees all across the country as it is also allied with the origin of the holy river, Godavari. The sacred temple is located at the foothills of Brahmagiri Mountain in a mid-sized town called Trambak, a place at short distance of around 28 kilometers from Nasik City.
